Favourite Summer Shoes

My favourite go-to-shoes are here and they happen to be in my favourite shades of blues. :)
As I got older, I seek more for the comfort offering...style also plays a big part... getting lucky with both offerings is definitely a bonus! I'm drawn to shoes that shows some skin; sexy yet chic.  Love these pairs because they are great to pair with anything... from shorts, to any length skirts and even skinny jeans.  You can dress them down or dress them up depending where you are heading for the day.

Culottes

I've always wanted a pair of culottes and finally I have found them with the perfect length for my height.  Since I'm vertically challenged, I made sure I found a pair that sits somewhat above my ankle.  I'm lucky to have found these, I have to admit though they can be tricky to style.  The trick is in the length.  Making sure these voluminous pair hits above the ankle.  You can wear them with heels or flats.  I chose to pair mine with strappy sandals that shows my toes, and I tucked in my soft knitted top since the pants are high waisted.

"Almost Victorian"

One of the spring trends that you need to be on the look out for is the Victorian trend.  High necklines, bows, puffy big sleeves and ruffles are some of the key elements of the said trend.

As soon as I saw this top, I was immediately in love with it!  I've always been into lighter, flowy and sheer fabrics.  The voluminous sleeves are my favourite part of the top.  It's floral fabric is a great addition to the perfect spring top.  I downplayed the look with distressed denim and over-the-knee-high suede/leather boots.

Long Skirt & Crop Top

The long skirt and cropped top combo has to be one of my favorite combos!  This particular skirt  shows off the leg with the right amount of sexiness.  Accessorizing such as using a beanie and using a scarf completes the whole outfit.  I chose to wear these pump booties to add some drama.

Borrowed from the Boys

There's something appealing about combining feminine pieces and pieces borrowed from the boys... Let's talk about the white Converse chucks (high tops) in particular.  White sneakers are a major trend since who knows how long now!  These classic beauties are probably my favourite kicks to match with almost anything, I mean almost anything from shorts, skirts, jeans, and dresses. Yes, even dresses are no exception.  It's a matter of pairing them and putting the pieces together to make it look cohesive.

I have quite a collection! -- 5 pairs (high tops and low ones) to be exact! Shocking! I know! My active job requires them... when you're a preschool teacher you are constantly moving around.

For this post, I combined two contrasting styles: feminine & tomboy.  As you can see, I chose a more sexier feminine pieces to pair with my white high top Converse to balance out the "Pretty Boy" look I was aiming for.

Off-The-Shoulder Lovin'

Off-the-shoulder tops are making its way into the spotlight.  Whether completely exposed, lacey, floaty or fitted silhouette; this feminine top hits the spot.  Paired mine (It's been sitting in my closet for maybe over 5 years!) with a fitted ripped jeans for that modern edgy look.
