I'm a big fan of mixing contrasting styles. I particularly like to combine ultra feminine look with uber cool edgy pieces like this ensamble. I paired the floral mid riff top with a high waist black Talula pencil skirt from Aritzia for a feminine spin. Then opted for Chuck Taylor by Converse and the denim jacket from Aritzia with the leather sleeves definitely add some edge to the whole look.
Fall is right around the corner and I'm dying to incorporate some fall pieces into my closet. Last fall I've been crazy about over sized cardigans, ponchos, and knee high boots. Gotta say I am still on the same boat after all.
For this post, I wanted to highlight my high boots from Steve Madden I purchased last fall. Hardly wore these oh so comfy boots and I almost forgot I have them until I dug out my shoes (Oh, man! lol). I opted for subdued colour for the fall season; this grey over-sized crochet sweater from Gentlefawn is the perfect piece that goes well with my lighter grey Bethan Dress from Brandy Melville.
I wanted to take advantage of the last week of sunshine in Vancouver so I put together a casual wear that is appropriate. I'm a little bummed out that I have to say good bye to the wonderful sunny days we've been experiencing this summer. On a positive note though, it is exciting to dress up in the fall; I love to be able to layer clothes and adding some fun accessories like scarves, beanies, etc.
Shopping online is definitely a convenient way to shop but the waiting game is another story. For weeks of waiting, waiting and waiting...Finally my 'Love of London Knit Bodycon' skirt from Free People which I particularly love the fitted silhouette and beautifully draped detailing at last made it to my mailbox. I was like a little kid at a candy store excitedly and eagerly waiting for a free box of candies. I guess after all that waiting, I gotta say it was all worth it. Free People did a good job on this skirt. I've always been drawn to asymmetrical pieces and drape fabrics. Asymmetrical pieces possess the same qualities as architectural structures. Drape fabrics are great in warmer season and they're good for mobility.
My gf's wedding was 2 weeks ago and I decided to wear this outfit. I would usually wear a dress at a wedding but instead I chose to be different this time. :)
