Knee-High Boots for Fall

Knee-high or over-the-knee high boots are definitely taking centre stage this season!  I bought my pair about 3 years ago thinking I've always wanted a pair of flat boots that go over the knee and are comfortable as well.  I like variety of lengths in my wardrobe whether it be shoes, boots, skirts, shorts you name it.  Variety of style of different things help me have options when I put an outfit together.

Blue + Backpack

I've been into casual with feminine pieces lately; and what great way to combine a slip dress with a comfortable sweater and casual backpack in this mild (when I had this photoshoot) fall weather.

I love love love the colour of this slip dress from Aritzia.  You can't go wrong with blue, it's always been my favourite colour and slip dresses were definitely the hot new item in the summer!

Perfumes.

I'm usually very picky in terms of choosing the right perfume for me.  Number 1, I might be allergic to strong scented perfumes because my nose will start to hurt.  Number 2, I only wear the perfume, "Christian Dior- Addict in forever, but since they discontinued the product (boo hoo!); I resorted to checking other kinds out there.

I stumbled upon this cute store in Steveston, Richmond called Naikaido that sells a variety of teas to organic perfumes.  Yes, they carry this brand called "Tokyo Milk" that I presume has organic ingredients.  I fell in love with a couple more perfumes, one was a cream perfume and the other in a liquid form in the same brand called "Liberty of Flowers - True Vanilla."

InStyle Magazine Feature

I was beyond ecstatic to have been chosen as one of the women to be featured on fashion magazine called InStyle.  "Inside InStyle" is a two page feature of women who are inspired by InStyle magazine; to be picked as one of the 8 featured was a privileged.  This feature helped me become more inspired to keep on sharing my love of fashion and styling.  Thank you InStyle for this inspiration!

Autumn Faux-Fur Vest

Faux-fur vest is the best piece to layer up this fall season.  I particularly like the softness and warmth this Talula vest offers.  I wanted to add a statement necklace to add a punch of colour to the whole outfit.

Vest

The weather is getting cooler, leaves are starting to fall, days are getting shorter... these are a few signs that fall is on its way.  Vests are ideal for transitional weather.  It can add an extra layer of warmth and are very stylish.  I sometimes like to style my outfit with a vest when I feel like the outfit is lacking that oomph factor.

For this outfit, I paired the vest with a see-through 3/4 sleeves top and finished it with a pair of shorts.  I completed the look with a pair of peep toed cut out shoes.

Summer Piece: Pencil Skirt

I'm feeling a bit bummed out that summer is almost over.  Nonetheless, I'm thankful and fortunate to have had the best summer weather this year... I mean how could you beat 25+ degrees weather?
Summer clothing is the most comfortable for me, I feel like I am able to breathe in them.  Summer weather calls for bare legs; for this outfit I wanted to share my love for pencil skirts.  It is such a versatile piece, you can dress it up or dress it down.  For this outfit, I kept it casual by wearing a washed out jean jacket and dressed it up a little bit with a pair of leopard kitten heels.

Mixing Pieces

Playing with accessories is the fun part in styling... putting the right pieces together and make it look cohesive is the challenging part.  I'm fond of putting together eclectic styles/pieces and somehow  make it work.

Samantha Pleet booties
Jacket from Armani Exchange
Chloe shoulder bag

This pale yellow Chloe purse totally pops.  It stands out as an accent colour.  Great colour for this season.  This bag is perfect size; fits my essentials such as lipstick, phone and credit cards.
