Summer Piece: Pencil Skirt

I'm feeling a bit bummed out that summer is almost over.  Nonetheless, I'm thankful and fortunate to have had the best summer weather this year... I mean how could you beat 25+ degrees weather?
Summer clothing is the most comfortable for me, I feel like I am able to breathe in them.  Summer weather calls for bare legs; for this outfit I wanted to share my love for pencil skirts.  It is such a versatile piece, you can dress it up or dress it down.  For this outfit, I kept it casual by wearing a washed out jean jacket and dressed it up a little bit with a pair of leopard kitten heels.

Outfit Details:

Aritzia  pencil skirt, cropped top & jean jacket
Gucci hobo bag
Ray Ban aviator sunglasses

S-L-I-T It Up!

I've been patiently waiting for my package of skirts to arrive.  Finally this 'French Terry slit skirt' from Free People made it to my mail box last Thursday.  I'm very pleased with the quality and fitting.  It is very flattering and yet gives the right amount of sexiness.  I've always fancied tasteful slit skirts and this skirt is no exception.  The silhouette is fitting as well as super comfortable.  The mesh overlay adds an interesting detail too.  I styled it with this adorable 'Raba Knit Top' from Plenty, shoes from Aldo Shoes and jacket from Urban Outfitters.

White & Nude Shades

I would choose whites over black any day.  The opportunity of accessorizing is endless using this hue.  In this case, I wanted to highlight layering of bracelets and necklaces.  I have always been into dainty gold necklaces.  As soon as I saw these cute  "On the Mark" and "Heart" necklaces from Stella & Dot, I had to purchase them in a heart beat. :)  Both are delicate and feminine which what I look for in a necklace. The bracelets on the other hand are made of gold and leather.  The chunkiness add a unique and edgy character to them.  I wanted to use all white on one arm and a punch of blue hue on the other.

I chose this cotton white top with a delicate embroidered lace detail of flowers at the end seam, top from David Bitton.  I finished off the look with a pair of laced up shoes from Aldo Shoes.  I've been obsessing over cross bodies bags for a while now so I chose this Siracusa PM from Louis Vuitton  (purchased in LV Flagship in Paris last year) which puts together the whole look.

My favourite part of this top is the intricate, feminine, dainty embroidered lace detail at the bottom.

Hello, Summer!

I can't believe summer is already here.  Sunshine has been good to Vancouverites and I mean SUPER good with drenched-in-sweat type of weather.  I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw locals sporting in their summer clothes without a sweater or some sort of long sleeves.  Since I've been fortunate to have sunshine this long weekend, I figured why not have a shoot in down town?  So I did it and was really happy with how they turned out!

I have this High Low Tunic from Zara since like last year.  Underneath, I am wearing a bandeau and a pair of nude shorts to keep the look tasteful.  For the accessories, I wanted to add an accent colour of Red Wristlet  from Dooney & Bourke to make my look more interesting. Finally, I'm using a weave like leather booties from  Aldo.
